REVIEW: Royal Winnipeg Ballet Presents - The Wizard of Oz May 1-5, 2019

Royal Winnipeg Ballet Present: The Wizard of Oz May 1-5, 2019

The classic tale of friendship and discovering hidden strengths within, The Wizard of Oz tells the story of Dorothy and her dog Toto on their journey down the famous ‘Yellow Brick Road ’ along side the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion. The Royal Winnipeg Ballets opening night for ‘The Wizard of Oz’ was truly a magical evening. Down to the amazing ballet dancers, to the colourful costumes and the astounding orchestra that captured every moment with great intensity; the RWB cast spare no expense in recreating this classic story and making it their own. A bravo to Sophia Lee who portrayed the character of Dorothy with great elegance and poise who right at the beginning made us fall in love with the character over and over again. If you want to relive this amazing story, be sure to take the time to watch this ballet in the short time that it is here.

Everything Winnipeg Score: 9/10
